Sandra McDonough

President and CEO, Portland Business Alliance
Sandra McDonough joined the Portland Business Alliance, Greater Portland’s Chamber of Commerce, as President and Chief Executive Officer on August 1, 2004.
Previously, McDonough worked in the energy industry for about 20 years, most recently as Vice President, External Affairs, for National Energy & Gas Transmission Inc. and a Vice President of Gas Transmission Northwest Corporation. Before joining NEGT, she was the federal affairs manager for PacifiCorp, working in Oregon and Washington, D.C. She later served as that company’s communications director, handling programs in a seven-state service area. Earlier, she was a reporter for The Oregonian and Seattle Times.
McDonough has more than 25 years of civic and community leadership and service in the Portland area. McDonough is currently serving the boards of Portland Schools Foundation, Portland Oregon Visitors Association, Leaders Roundtable, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Oregon Mentors Leadership Council, and the University of Oregon Business School Advisory Committee. She is on the board of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, and a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum/Oregon.
McDonough holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism and German from the University of Oregon.
